I looked into the frequency of occurrence of common names and found the following based on the Indexes of Births for 1850 at the Public Record Office. The numbers against the names relate to 10,000 births of the same sex in that year. For example, only 10 out of 10,000 males births would have been named Mark - a very unusual name in those days!
